Addiction, Obession & Passion

"What's the difference?"  I am often asked this question by highly educated, intelligent people for they are honestly confused when it comes to the subject of addiction.

I still read articles written by clever journalists doubting that addiction even exists ...

"It's just an excuse for poor behavior from people with no discipline" was one line I recently read.    Read more »

Live & Learn or Crash & Yearn

"Yes I am wise, but its wisdom born of pain".

I was singing at the top of my voice driving my new luxurious dream car that I have recently bought for myself, when tears started to roll down my cheeks.  Read more »

Emotional Libido

Emotional infidelity can be as devastating as sexual infidelity to a relationship.

Too Good To Be True?

Happily Ever After just Livin' the dream with the love of your life? Are these phrases you respond with if someone asks how you are?

I used to confuse the word discipline with punishment, and consequently disliked this word immensely for the first three decades of my life.  It used to mean to me having no fun, being bossed around by someone else rules, trapped, bored and regimented.  Read more »

Mythunderstandings

What is a Myth really these days?

It's a popular belief or story that has become associated with a person, institution, or occurrence shared by a group to illustrate a cultural ideal.   It's a fiction or half-truth that forms part of an ideology.  Our ideology being the set of beliefs by which a group, family or society subscribes to but it can also be based on speculation that is imaginary. Good Grief?

Is there such a thing?

Feeling grief and feeing good simultaneously?

It hasn't happened for me yet.   But then, I am a long way off from sainthood and still must confess that I drop to my knees in dysfunctional despair from time to time.

Less and less these days, but it still happens every now and then.

Actually it happened just this weekend. Read more »
